Main Goal
The goal of this project was to develop a website that was able to run on both SharePoint Classic and the SpringShare LibGuides platform while having the look and feel of a site ran on a more modern architecture.
Process
I established a common web framework that worked in all systems environments and developed the site from the ground up to optimize performance and UX/UI.
- Gathered Requirements
- Analyzed Web Environment
- Deployed Dev Environment
- Developed Web Framework
- Optimized Web Framework for Performance on Legacy Architecture
- Created Wireframes
- Built Suite of Sample Pages for Stakeholder Feedback
- Sprint Cycle Development
- Push to Prod
- Regular Maintenance and Enhancement
Outcome
Despite the technical limitations, the website performs very well on even the slowest networks, and looks like a modern site to boot. User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, though maintenance is continuous and a refactor will likely come within the next 3-5 years.
